a design charrette: the PLAYhouse

All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.

-As You Like It, Act 2, scene 7, 139-143

I recently participated in the 2nd Annual Life of an Architect Playhouse Design Competition.  A quick weekend design charrette produced the PLAYhouse, a backyard children’s theater.  When I was younger, I remember spending my summer days running around my grandmother’s backyard with my sisters and cousins playing “make believe”.  I wish we had this to create and tell our own stories for our family and friends…
